Last month, we got our first look at Jamie Foxx’s Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. And from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like they’re taking the Max Dillon character to bold new heights for this one — and Foxx says he couldn’t be happier.
“Oh, man ― it’s so much fun,” the actor told Yahoo! Movies from the Brooklyn, New York, set of the short film he’s directing for Ron Howard and Canon’s Project Imaginat10n. “The costume is great. They were very creative with it.”
Electro is a role that takes lot of prep each day as far as logging time in the makeup chair, but that doesn’t bother Foxx.
“It’s a couple hours ― a couple hours of work, but it’s really so much fun,” said Foxx, who requires much more time in the chair for Electro than his counterpart Max Dillon. “It’s part of a remarkable legacy: Spider-Man. I mean, when you’re growing up as a kid, you know, that’s everything. So to be able to be in that is just amazing.”
The actor also confirmed that footage from the upcoming sequel will be shown off at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International!
“Now I’m just waiting to get to Comic-Con and see how people respond to it. Marc Webb is a genius and Amy Pascal and everybody at Sony have just be so gracious to allow me to have this opportunity. So it’s cool.”
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
I really think that Jaime will be great, haven’t seen any footage. MSC
