Jamie Foxx confirmed as Electro for ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ sequel

Jamie Foxx confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that he would be playing the role of Electro (Maxwell “Max” Dillon) in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.

“Electro is a great character,” Jamie tells ET’s Nancy O’Dell “I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked. … I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.”

The new film in the Spider-Man saga, also starring Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley, is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014. Production will begin in early 2013 in New York.
