Jamie Foxx shoots an ad campaign in South Africa

Oscar and Grammy award winning Hollywood megastar Jamie Foxx has flown to Cape Town in South Africa, to shoot an advertising campaign.

Ivan Johnson, creative director at advertising company 140 BDDO, told Weekend Argus that Foxx would be playing a character called “The Dude Meister” in a campaign for a local alcohol brand.

Johnson said Foxx arrived at Cape Town International at about 8am on Friday, and added that the entertainer would be shooting the campaign until Monday night. It was not clear if he would remain in Cape Town after the shoot, or whether he would travel elsewhere in the country.

When asked about the selection of Foxx for the campaign, Johnson said: “Getting Foxx took a lot of negotiation. This is a coup for us. He is a nice guy to work with.”

The arrival of Foxx was greeted by Kfm DJ Ryan O’Connor, who posted comments on Twitter. O’Connor tweeted: “Just landed at Cape Town International! My man Jamie Foxx in town y’all.” The ad campaign is to premiere in September.
