Jamie Foxx To Play Black Panthers Leader Geronimo Pratt

Jamie Foxx will reunite with his Ray director Taylor Hackford. Jamie has just joined the cast of Signal Hill, the Johnnie Cochran biopic starring Anthony Mackie.

Foxx, who won the Best Actor Oscar for the Hackford-helmed Ray, here will play Elmer “Geronimo” Pratt, the former Black Panther party leader and Vietnam vet who was convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and sent to prison for 27 years. Cochran was the lawyer who helped Pratt to settle a false imprisonment suit for $4.5 million back in 1992.

The film will also star Elizabeth Banks as Mary Neiswender, an investigative newspaper reporter who broke stories on the coverup.


Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party

Jamie stopped by Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg’s hit show Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. He appeared on the season two premiere of the show, along with Patti LaBelle and Charlie Wilson, to help Snoop celebrate his 45th birthday.

During the show Foxx decided to take a peek at what’s happening over on Snoop’s side of the kitchen and accidentally mistaken flour for a very different white substance. And as the rapper handed everyone a bag of flour to shake some chicken in and dance to hit song ‘U Can’t Touch This’. Jamie couldn’t help himself and shook his bag so hard that he was covered in white powder by the end of the dance.

Barbra Streisand’s Miami concert coming to Netflix

Barbra Streisand’s Miami concert will premiere on Netflix November 22. The sold-out show was part of Streisand’s “The Music…The Mem’ries…The Magic! Tour”. The concert featured special guest Jamie Foxx performing a duet of “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.”

Rihanna’s Diamond Ball

Jamie Foxx attended Rihanna’s 3rd annual Diamond Ball on Thursday night, September 14 in New York City.

The benefit raised over $5 million to support the Clara Lionel Foundation, a nonprofit organisation founded in 2012 by Rihanna. The foundation supports education, health, and emergency initiatives around the globe, and helps students from Caribbean countries attend college in the U.S


Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio Unite for ‘Hand in Hand’ in NYC


Jamie reunited with his Django Unchained co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio to encourage donations at the Hand in Hand hurricane relief telethon. The event featured stars gathered simultaneously in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville to lend their voices to the cause, aiding those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

“We’re here to raise money, lift some spirits. When tough times hit, this is who we are. We’re compassionate, we’re unstoppable when we unite, when we join together hand in hand,” Foxx said.

The telethon raised over 44 million dollars! Donations are still being accepted by phone, text and online, so visit the Hand in Hand website.

Jamie Foxx Joins ‘Hand in Hand’ Hurricane Relief Line-Up

Jamie Foxx is among the names that have been added to the list of participants in tonight’s (Sept. 12) “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief.” The one-hour special (8-9 p.m. ET) that will air on all major TV networks was organized by manager Scooter Braun and Houston rapper Bun B, with artists appearing in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville.

The event’s other performances and appearances include: Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Beyonce, Blake Shelton, Michael Strahan, Barbra Streisand, Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey, Justin Timberlake, The Black Eyed Peas, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler, Dwayne Johnson, and more.
