Jamie Foxx confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that he would be playing the role of Electro (Maxwell “Max” Dillon) in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″.

“Electro is a great character,” Jamie tells ET’s Nancy O’Dell “I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked. … I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.”

The new film in the Spider-Man saga, also starring Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley, is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014. Production will begin in early 2013 in New York.

Jamie Foxx may be the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood, and ET’s Nancy O’Dell is exclusively with the Oscar winner at his Santa Monica, CA home to talk about his career, his family and how he handles the media when there’s a woman in his life.

The star of the upcoming Django Unchained says the worst thing that can happen in a relationship is to go public with it: “I like to stay quiet with anyone that dating; that I’m really, really dating, “he says. “If there’s somebody that you’re dating, the worst thing that you can do is let that [camera] touch you. Because once the camera touches you, [it's out].”

Watch the video to get a tour of Jamie’s amazing home that he shares with his whole family, set on 40 acres with a stunning pool, a recording studio and an avocado grove!

One thing you won’t find at Jamie’s home, however, is his Best Actor Oscar statuette that he won for his performance in Ray.

“I never wanted to keep it at the house — I never wanted to get stuck,” says Jamie, whose pal and former manager Jamie King holds onto the statuette for him. “It changes you. … I just wanted to go back to being funny.”

To understand how the molecules in a room move differently when Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington get together, it helps to focus on the space between the two actors. At the moment, we’re talking about a quarter of an inch, max. Foxx is in a bistro chair at a photo shoot in Hollywood, cool as Christmas Eve in a navy Ozwald Boateng suit and monochromatic purple shirt and a Tom Ford tie. Washington, sparkling in black Prada and vintage YSL, is inching toward him atop a cocktail table, her lips holding one hot breath shy of a kiss.
“So, so sexy,” the photographer says, and it is. The stylists, lighting assistants, publicists, bodyguards, and various hangers-on (both actors are traveling with small armies) just stand there gawking. “I think my camera is sweating a little.”

Jamie Foxx is responding exclusively to ET about the furor over his comment referring to President Barack Obama as “our Lord and Savior.”

Foxx, who made the comment at the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, tells ET’s Nancy O’Dell in an interview at his California home that his comment was intended as a joke. “I’m a comic,” Foxx says, “[and] sometimes I think people get a little too tight. And, it’s getting a little tougher for us comedians [because] some people take it and want to make a huge story out of it, but it’s a joke.”

Some Christians blogged and tweeted that they found Foxx’s comment offensive.

Tune in to ET starting on Thursday, November 29 for the multiple-part interview series with Jamie Foxx, which will include an announcement about an exciting new project that’s close to his heart, as well as a tour of his home.

Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washing and Leonardo Dicaprio grace the cover of the latest issue of Vibe magazine. Watch a behind the scenes video of the shoot and read cover story below.

Despite the site-unseen criticism of Quentin Tarantino’s latest film rebellion, Django Unchained isn’t a blaxploitation slavery flick. Jamie Foxx, who plays a gun-slinging slave on the warpath, reunites with Kerry Washington for the epic tale, while Leonardo DiCaprio finally puts on his black hat and goes dark. Gathered at a Manhattan studio, the big three explain how they mastered the art of telling this historically hot-button story.
